Need to learn more about investing, etc.

What are some good resources (books/web, etc) that will help me understand Canadian investing and mortgages?

The older I get, the more I realize that I am lacking in my knowledge of investing as well as the finite details of mortgages. I'd really like to be able to walk into a bank, and intelligently analyze options available for my money and home. Can anyone out there suggest some good resources to help me learn? Thanks very much!

Many people swear by the advice of Gordon Pape, especially his books.

A couple of the blogs I subscribe to are Million Dollar Journey and Canadian Capitalist. They're both very good, and the two guys recently started Canadian Money Forum, which is a pretty friendly place.
