My wife and I are staying in Manhatten near Time Square and she lost her contacts. Is there any way we can get her new contacts today?

Best answer: I know a great place. Optical 88, 116 Mott Street. Take the NR (yellow) train down to Canal Street and walk from there. They've always been able to give me free samples when I go in for an exam. Also, they're incredibly polite and marvelously inexpensive. I just bought a 6 months supply of lenses from them for $100.

Yes. Go to Lenscrafters or the like (googly says there's one at Broadway and 34th and one at 3rd ave and 49th) and they can likely give/sell you a "sample" pair that is close to your prescription. They may have to fit her, whcihc will cost more and take more time, but they may just be able to call your doctor back home.

I had to do this once, although not in Times Sq, and it was super easy.
