How do I remove addresses from paypal for real?
When I go to my account settings, I have two street addresses listed. My current home address, and my current work address.
When I go to buy something it defaults to sending the seller my address, and if I click "change" it lists seven current and old addresses I have used.
I want to delete the ones that are duplicates or outdated. Does anyone know how to do this? I asked paypal support and they had no idea what I was talking about.

If I go to the my account tab
then profile
the drop down menu has add or edit street address
and I can delete them in there.
Maybe that works for you too?
If one is your 'confirmed' address or linked to a credit card, then you won't be able to delete it unless you go and choose another as your confirmed or delete your credit card first.

Oh I see what you're saying now. I went to go "send money" and went "change address" and I get a bunch of addresses that aren't listed under my profile.

This happens to me too. Deleting it the way the above posters mentioned hasn't worked. Let us know if you find something.

Ok I think I figured it out. Those addresses are linked from Ebay, not Paypal. Go to Ebay and go to "my ebay" and then click on the account tab. Then go to "addresses" in the left hand column and then click on "view all shipping addresses." Then you should be able to delete those extra addresses that are popping up where you described.

Response by poster: I have a partially different list of addresses on Ebay (!), but my eBay account isn't "linked" to my Paypal account.
I'm wary about linking them as that is certainly an irreversible process.

Response by poster: Well I linked my Paypal addresses to my eBay account and now I have two copies of my work account in my eBay list, but all the old addresses that show up in Paypal are not there. Bonus: it looks like I can unlink the two address books if I ever decide I want to.
Unbonus: My problem is not solved.

i have this problem too, and it infuriates me. i even have other people's addresses show up because i sent them stuff paid for with paypal. i'm always afraid i'll click the wrong address and my stuff will get shipped to an address i don't even have anymore. solutions are definitely needed!

Yeah, I get the same thing, always annoyed me as well. Definitely one of the more minor things wrong with paypal, they do much worse than this, such that the extra addresses never really bothered me much.
