Can I rent a Vespa in Boston?

Is there anywhere in the Boston area where I can rent a Vespa for a day?

First link from Googling "boston rent scooter" looks legit to me.

Reviews for above linked site. (Doesn't look great...)

Also, it looks to be Chinese scooters that they rent, not Vespas. I'd be very surprised if anyone rents Vespas anywhere near Boston.

Perplexity: OP is asking specifically for a Vespa, not just any scooter.

I would call a Vespa dealership and ask if they know of any. Herb Chambers is a big one in Boston (Brighton).

Another thing you could do: find the local scootering community (every city has one) and ask if any of its members would be willing to rent a Vespa to you for the day. The Boston Stranglers look to be one of the big scooter clubs, but there are probably others as well. These guys usually have mailing lists and if you can find the listowner, they might be able to put your request out to a large number of scooter owners.

In response to rabbitrabbit's msg above, I don't really see how that would work insurance-wise in case of an accident. I'd expect a private party to want to see proof of you being able to reimburse for the value of the scooter if anything went wrong while you were riding it.

Also, Twisted Touring is another Boston based scooter group. I ride with them regularly, they are a good bunch of people.

Forget Herb Chamers when I bought one they wouldn't even let me test drive!
