Maximizing the benefits of Callanetics

Help me maximize the benefits of Callanetics.

Based on the positive reviews on Amazon and other forums, I purchased this Callanetics DVD. Many reviews I have read indicate that the results of this exercise are very fast to show. However, I still count the Hivemind as my most trusted source. I wondered if anyone out there has any feedback on any of the Callanetics program. In addition, I've been following the Weight Watchers diet. Is there anything else those Callanetics devotees can recommend in order to maximize or speed up the results?

I had a Callanetics video tape that I used frequently back in the early 90s. I really liked it, and it definitely helped tighten everything up. Plus the deep muscle exercises really helped improve my state of mind; I always felt very calm and centered after I was done with the tape and not only like I'd had a good physical workout.

The only advice I can really offer is to make sure you are imitating the movements just as Callan says, otherwise you aren't going to get as effective a workout and could risk injury. I remember feeling fairly sore the first week of use, but it was definitely a good kind of sore. The exercises can feel awkward the first few times you do them, but you *will* get the hang of it pretty quickly.

As for speeding up the results, well, the only thing I can offer there is to ditch the Weight Watchers diet for the Eat to Live 6 week plan, which will have you losing weight quickly while improving pretty much every other aspect of your health. The drawback, of course, is that it's basically a very low-fat vegan diet, and most people find it too limiting. But it really does work, and it really works fast, so if fast is what you want, you can't go wrong with it.
