Need backup solution for my WM5 Phone. Want a Dictionary

SoftwareFilter: Help me find two apps for my Windows Mobile 5 Phone: 1) free simple backup solution that does not require me to install outlook on my computer. 2) a really good dictionary

Have a windows Mobile 5 AT&T 8525 Phone.

1) I don't have outlook on my computer and don't want it. But a close call on my phone made me think how much info is on my device that is not being backed up. Want some simple, FREE, stable software to back up contacts, and calendar (everything else is nice but not strictly necessary).

2) I want a really good dictionary (w/ Thesaurus is big plus). I am willing to pay $$ for this if it has good features. Specifically un-cluttered interface, large database of words, vocab building "games/exercises" or any word games, word of the day, etc. Other cool features appreciated.

1) How about Sprite Backup? It came with my phone, and I'm pretty happy with it; it does whole-device backups, but you can also limit it to just contacts, mail, programs... it creates self-contained backup archives which you can then download through syncing or a normal file manager, no Outlook needed.

2) MobiDict seems to be pretty good, but I haven't found a really feature-complete dictionary application, either.

PPCPimBackup from xda-developers is a free app that will backup your contacts, messages, sms's and appointments, along with other useful things. It runs on the device and creates self-executing restore files.

I used Dashwire to back up the data on my phone.
