get me into a love sac knock off

Looking for the perfect bean bag chair - without out the sticker shock of the love sac

so - we have a huge open living room that is a tv, computer, old school gaming, library, and fireplace staring place all at once. a couch seems too rigged for the space planning and we're the lounging type anyway. i'm looking for something that's comfortable, easy to maintain, not prohibitively hard to clean, and is worth the price. any help?

I found these (made by praxis) at overstock. They're the ones i'm leaning towards, but i can't find any info on them besides on overstock. anyone have one? pictures of non models in them? do they live up to the overwhelmingly good reviews?

i also found this one (company called jaxx) after some googling.

there's of course the ever popular love sac, which, while fun to say, seems a little on the spendy side.

i've also read this thread, but mozai seemed to be after a different feel.

i'm looking for suggestions on these products or to be pointed to things you've tried and liked (or hated) that i didn't list here.

I was just looking at these last night, and they're way cheaper than a lovesac, but shipping to canada was a killer so I decided against one.

They do have removable covers for cleaning, though.

I have a Love Sac Super Sac (the 6' one). I bought mine at a local grand opening sale and got it at 50% off. Yes, they're expensive, but mine has essentially acted as a second couch in various locations over the years. It made it through four years in multiple dorm/apartment living rooms of college with only a tiny rip in the cover, which was fixed with a needle and thread. I expect mine to last a lot longer, and if it dies I'd love to replace it with another.

I probably wouldn't use one as the primary piece of furniture in a room. They're super comfy, but it's nearly impossible to sit upright in one. Even if you manage to initially, it will flatten out. As something to compliment a couch, though, it's awesome.

One thing to note, my 6' sac is HUGE. Make sure you have the room for it. It flattens out to about 8' after a few days of not being fluffed and can easily overwhelm a room.

That said, I am also interested to see if anyone else something as durable for the price. Looking back, I probably would've still paid full price for my Love Sac, though.

Good luck!

I have a Fatboy bean bag. I love it, and everyone who comes over loves it too.

I purchased a Fom Bag last year. We use it daily, but we hate the microsuede cover that came with it. Without the cover, you sink into the bag nice and comfy. The cover that came with it seems to be too small and it with it on you can't sink into it. The suede just pulls tight. The cover is in a closet somewhere.

I wouldn't buy another of this brand again, but I definitely recommend getting a love sac of some sort.

I was in your boat about a year and a half ago, and went with a queen-sized Corda-Roy's. For the price and quality, I think its a great bargain compared with the lovesac.

The gimmick is that the inner bag of memory foam pieces can also be used as a queen-sized bed, which I've utilized a few times as a guest option (its not the same sleep as a real mattress, but better than a blow-up).

Cleaning hasn't been a problem - the outer fabric is machine-washable, which I've done once, but I usually just go over it with a vacuum attachment to pick up cat hairs. Which brings up the point that as much as I like it, my cats love it more for their 23hr/day nap fests.

Fatboys are awesome. They've got PVC coating, so they're super easy to clean, and the shell is a bit more rugged than standard beanbags so they hold the shapes you put them into.

Seconding the Corda-Roy's. It's my primary video gaming chair, it's a snuggle sack for two, and a queen mattress in a pinch.

I have a 5 foot "King" size Foof Chair (formerly known as Poof Chair) that I am in the process of trying to get rid of. I love it, and it's wonderfully comfortable and great for video games or watching movies, but it does sort of engulf a room. Two people can definitely fit on the 5' size if they feel like being snuggly.

If you get one, make sure to get the inner liner! They claim it's optional and then charge you more for it, but it's so worth it. Without one you'd have an incredibly hard time putting the outer liner in the wash, since there'd be nothing to contain the foam pieces. The ability to wash the liner is lovely, in my opinion.

(It's a shame you're in TX as I'd totally sell you mine for cheap. Curses!)

Best answer: I vote Sumo Sac... the large ones use memory foam, not foam beads, so they are quiet.

Best answer: Hey just wanted to say our family is really enjoying one from http://www.sumolounge.com/

We have had it now for about two weeks, its very easy to clean (we have a 2 year old), awesomely comfortable. The little one has forgotten about most of her Christmas toys but plays on this bean bag for hours. I don't know what your budget is but they have many sizes, it sounds like we have about the same living room setup though and I wanted to add we ordered the sultan size.

I looked at the love sac site before responding and would say the sultan size is a tad bigger than their "movie" size, and on sale last I looked for about 1/2 the price.

P.S. The bag actually comes super compressed in a cube, when you open it takes about 30 minutes or so to get full size, but if you are quick enough you can stuff it in the cover before it expands.
