Getting to the game....

We're going to a Seahawks game and I'm wondering what the best transportation option is?

We'll be at the Nov 2 afternoon game. I have heard that the traffic to and from QWest can be even more horrible than standard issue Seattle traffic. We're thinking of coming in on the Sounder from Everett, does that seem like a good plan? Trains leave 15 and 30 minutes post-game, I'm hoping that'll give us enough time to get to the station and get on board, I'm sure it will be. However, if you know of a better option, fill me in! We looked at staying downtown on the Sat night and walking down, but the hotels in Seattle are pretty pricey, we can stay in Everett for $80.

Any tips for watching the game are also welcome. We're on the 200 level under cover, so at least we won't get rained on. Thanks!

(We're coming down from Vancouver, so options from downtown northwards would be best. Amtrak schedules aren't too convenient, sadly.)

The train station is right next to the stadium, so you should be able to make it there and back in time.

Seconding the Sounder as a good option. Be aware that it can get very crowded on game days, though, so try to arrive early at the station. While buses are doable, the train will be a lot less hassle.

There are $80 hotels within walking distance of the stadium. Sadly, none come to mind right away for me, but I know I've stayed in some for Mariner games (right next door).

(Sidestep.com shows 12 options under $90 within a mile of the Stadium for me. I recognize both the Ramada and Days Inn as places I've crashed.)

Everett is a TERRIBLE place to stay. ugh. There are hotel options that aren't that far away and are a city bus ride away - try the university district - that would be far better. Really. Seriously.
