StripClubFilter: Recommendations for the Washington D.C. area?

Will be in the Washington DC area for a week in the middle of November. I usually like to visit a strip club each time I travel to a new part of the country. I've never been to Washington DC before, and strangely enough I'm having bad luck finding good reviews for any places in that area.

Can anyone give me the skinny on the situation there? If you can recommend a place to go, or on the flip side recommend a place to stay away from, I'd greatly appreciate it.

really, go up to Baltimore. DC has nothing.

Does the "area" include Baltimore? D.C. kinda sucks ... generally the places are very small and there is table/lap dancing to speak of. I like the atmosphere and the food (yes, really) at Crystal City Restaurant, which technically is in Virginia but is Metro accessible, but it's a pastie place.

Don't go to McDougal's, it's a hole unless you like lapdances from middle-aged crackwhores.

Thank god I quit drinking.

Oops, I meant "there is *no* table/lap dancing to speak of" Also, I didn't see indiebass on non-preview, of course.

Don't go to Good Guys.

I went to Archibalds for a Bachelor part this weekend and the club was pretty nice. It had a good atmosphere. The bartenders were dressed in very hot lingere and served the drinks up fast. The girls were OK. They were more fun to talk to then watch dance for the most part though.

West Virgina has my favorite clubs. I dunno what part of the D.C. area you'll be in but WV isn't too far away depending on where you're at. Vixens is sort of nice if you decide to go that route. I don't know anything about the Baltimore clubs.

Strip clubs in dc are weak. No lap dances, no contact. THe atmosphere isn't bad, as there alot of young people around at the bars nearby. I'll recommend Camelot because its in the middle of a nightlife district.

It's a testament to the lameness of DC strip clubs that the West Virginia clubs are described as "not too far away." It's at least a 3 hour drive out there, they're nice, yeah, but that's a hike. You been to Atlanta? You know those nice, big "show bars" with table dances and comfy chairs and such? Ain't no such thing in DC. Archibald's is the nicest, but it's really, really tiny and hard to move around in. Camelot is decent, but tends to be standing-room-only on weekend nights. I prefer Good Guys or JP's (is that one even still open?) in Georgetown, but I'm not sure either one is worth a cab ride.

Which brings me to Royal Palace. Total skanky dive, threadbare furnishings, obnoxious DJs, tired-looking women, but, man, that place feels real. It's my favorite in the area, and easy to Metro to. But don't expect anything impressive.

You want us to publicly answer the question but you ask it anonymously? Weak.

As a former Miami boy I can say yeah, if you like the glitz and all holes bared kind of club that some cities like Miami and Atlanta have then you may find DC disappointing. If you really are just going as a "see how the other half sleazes" then you can still enjoy yourself. Just remember it's a different kind of experience.

In that vein, I'd suggest Camelot. It's narrow and crowded and when I went it was striking to me just how different it was than places I'd been to in Miami.

Camelot on M St. is the best you will find in DC, I bet.

Camelot is the name I've always heard tossed around, it's the name that first comes to mind. I think it's kind of businessman-y, because I've known people who have mentioned going there with clients.
