Tricking out a 4' x 8' cork board in my office

I need your ideas, inspiration, toy suggestions, tools to make this large cork board functional, fun and attractive.

Before you say upholster it I would say that the sucker is bolted to the wall so me creating an all over upholstered look is out. This also means no circular saw to "shape" the board can happen either. It has a wooden edge as well.

Maribou trim and a glue gun go a long way toward hiding the wooden edge, as do some judiciously-placed cocktail umbrellas (picks cut off).

Then again, you may not be tricking out a cork board for that kind of office.

Glue guns are great for attaching pretty much anything to a cork board, though.

I covered the bulletin boards in my office with fabric. You cut fabric (regular ole calico will do) to be about 1/2-inch wider on each side than the visible part of the cork. Then center the fabric on the board, and use a few pieces of double-sided tape to keep it in place. Then use an old credit card to shove the edges of the fabric under the frame. Looks so much nicer!

Raasterbate an unusual/funky image to cover the cork board surface. Preferably something clever so that memos stuck to the cork board become a part of the image (I.E. a snobby waiter holding up a empty tray, and you always stick memos "on" the tray, only that idea is super lame).

It would only work if your board is not entirely plastered with paper at all times. This would of course mean sticking thumbtacks in the background image, but you can always replace sections of the image as needed if you save the rasterbated file.

If you use last.fm, you can make a lastgraph. I had one up in my office for a long time. It looks cool and got lots of commets. The site seems to be down right now, hopefully it will be back soon, but you can see what the output looks like here.
