stupid javascript question. ⇒more inside ⇒
Err, Crap. Matt, please delete me. I just got an answer that makes this irrelevant.

I have a JavaScript question: Why the hell isn't there a nice, conclusive API / code reference for JavaScript like there is for its older and not-as-related-as-the-names-suggest cousin Java?
Whenever I try doing some small JS coding for my own sites or my job, I have to sift through lots of junk I get from various webmaster-tech-help sites, most of which are tutorials. The 'reference' I find is years old and is usually only for Netscape's implementation, with no help for IE, and no comparisons between browsers.

And that's not really an important question, just a vent. Delete away, Matt.

cyrus, it would be very wrong to advise you to Google "Copyright © 1996, 1997 O'Reilly & Associates", so I'll just tell you to buy the O'Reilly Javascript book.
