Yet another Portland question

We will be hanging out in Portland (Oregon) for three days over next weekend and are looking for a few types of activities downtown or easily accessible by public transit/walking from downtown. One of us has spent a little time there in the past and has done Basic Touristy Portland, the other has not. [more inside]

Portland (Oregon)! In September! Twentysomethings edition

Two twentysomethings going on a trip to Portland for the first week of September. We’ve got some tickets to MusicFest NW, this guide to biking to microbreweries, and a sweet AirBnB apartment in the Pearl District. I definitely want to check out Stumptown, Powell’s Books, Voodoo Donuts, and Pok Pok but I’d love to hear about some of the places/activities/neat things that people love that might not be so obvious. Vancouver, WA to Portland Airport

In the not-terribly-distant future, I will need to get from a hotel in Vancouver, WA to Portland Airport early on a Sunday morning. Looking at the airport website, they list a bewildering number of taxi and van services. Does anyone have a recommendation? Reliability edges out cost.

Is it safe to visit Bagby Hot Springs?

My girlfriend and I are going to Portland next week for the first time, and had been planning to take a day to drive out to the Bagby Hot Springs (she was thrilled when she found out they're the springs featured in Old Joy). Upon researching further, I discovered that it doesn't have the greatest reputation in terms of safety. But, much of what I read was from years ago, and it's difficult to an find up-to-date state of things. For those who have been there recently, is it a reasonably safe trip? [more inside]

In Portland, OR for a week with a toddler. What shouldn't I miss?

We're going to Portland for a week-long vacation (and maybe a moving trial run) in a few days. We've visited before, but this time we're taking our 2-year-old daughter, and I wanted to ask if there are any great toddler friendly destinations or day trips that we shouldn't miss. Any tips on kid-friendly restaurants and organic grocery shopping in NW Portland are also appreciated. [more inside]

Suggestions for a Two-Year-Old and an 80-Year-Old in Portland, OR today?

My mom and grandfather are visiting Portland to see me and my two-year-old. We're planning to go to the zoo, but it looks like rain all day and we may decide it's too much. I'd love to have a backup plan, preferably indoors. My grandfather is 80, and while he still has a lot of physical stamina, he can't hear well when there's a lot of ambient noise. This rules out places like the Children's Museum and Playdate PDX. Any ideas of places where my toddler could be a toddler and the adults can hold a conversation?

Shout out for help from PDX!

Dear Portland, I'll be spending three weeks in your fair city starting this coming Saturday. I'm there for a pretty particular reason- I just had foot surgery at a point in my life when I'm living with my parents, and it's turned out to be pretty toxic for me. A friend has kindly invited me to recover at her house. Looking for foot-friendly adventure and Good Times. [more inside]

Bus from Albany/Corvallis to Portland?

Does public transportation between Corvallis, OR (or Albany) and Portland, OR exist? A bus that ran at least a few times a day would be great, but I can't seem to find one. I know about the hut shuttle but I am looking for something less expensive.
