Diversity training exercises

Can anyone suggest some diversity management exercises or activities?

I am in a managing diversity class, and I want to facilitate an activity or exercise that would be used in a real-world organization regarding diversity training. Searching the 'net has not been to helpfull.

I asked a similar question awhile ago and got some helpful answers.

This isn't really the same question as the previous one. In that case, it sounded like there were some pretty bad diversity problems that a standard sort of diversity exercise wouldn't even begin to touch (which is what most of the advice there says) whereas here, Scottk just needs some ideas for typical sorts of diversity exercises.

Right, I picked that up. There were a couple of suggestions in there I thought might be helpful (ie the one where they showed pictures of a diverse group of people, had people make judgements and then revealed what the people actually did) and felt that Scottk might find something useful.

I used to be a human relations trainer at a university; I may be able to suggest something if you can give a bit more information (how many people are in the group, what is the group's demographics, how long do you have for the exercise, what exactly is the assignment, etc.).

Also, depending on how much time you have to prepare, you could try to get your hands on this book. It was much too business-oriented for my purposes since I worked mostly with students, but you may find it helpful.
