Enabling dual monitor support on iMacs?

iMac G5 dual monitor hack -- Has anyone given this patch a try to enable dual monitor support on consumer Macs? I'm getting an iMac G5 if this is reliable enough to work in a production environment, if not I'll have to go higher-end.
