Why not call somebody in the area who rents 'em and ask?

Oops--Syracuse isn't as far west as I thought. Here's a list of ones surrounding Buffalo.

My step-uncle owned a port-a-potty business here in Kansas. His rates were based on how many you needed, how long you needed them, and whether (and/or how often) you'd need him to clean them while you had them. So, basically I'm seconding everyone else who said you need to call the individual business owners and ask them.

A fun side note: He once sponsored an amateur racing team who used his business logo on their car. He joked that he wanted them to add under the logo "Your shit is our bread-and-butter." (It didn't happen, but he liked to fantasize about it)

Where I live it costs about $150 for a one week minimum rental with delivery and pick up.

Too bad that these companies in your area won´t just tell you what it costs over the phone for where you live. I don´t know how you will ever arrange a rental if you can´t get ahold of them on the phone.

I rent them for events. A single will cost around $150-$160 delivered. Around another $100.00 for optional service. As it has been said the more the better the rate will be. Also a wheelchair accessible unit will cost about 50% more. (I don't like paying more, and I'm sure the ADA would complain about the price, but the dealer says it takes up more space on the truck.)

You might also end up paying more if you're talking about renting one for THIS weekend. It's 4th of July and I'm sure there is much more demand for porta-johns than usual. Perhaps that's why you can't get someone on the phone?

online quotes here http://www.mesawasteservices.com/

I suspect that the phone problem comes from the fact that once ONE employee of a waste collection and hauling company has touched the phone, nobody else wants to use it..thus the need to continually replace the phone after each use, this is time consuming. And, if you're not certain it has been replaced, you just don't answer it. I'm always amazed these companies stay in business at all!
