When were the popular lyrics to Taps written?

I'm wondering if anyone knows (or can find out) when the following lyrics to Taps were written.

Day is done, gone the sun
From the lake, from the hills,
From the sky.
All is well, safely rest,
God is nigh.

What I'd really like to know is whether these lyrics are in the public domain.

Those lyrics are quoted here as of 1915. I think that makes them public domain, but I'm not certain.
