I have a group with 300 members on facebook. I just set up an event related to the group. I want to invite all the group members to the event but the little button that allows you to do this (well, it was there on Saturday) has disappeared. How do I invite all the group members?
Is the button just gone? or does it automatically invite the members now? what's going on?
Many thanks. I will just message all members if I can't invite them but I'd rather invite them!

Response by poster: It's the Invite Members button that's gone, it seems..

Response by poster: I only have my own login, and I did not already send the invitation.

Can you automatically add all the members of a group to a friend list, and then invite people by friend list?

Response by poster: The group members aren't necessarily all my friends tho?

Dumb Question #3: Are you a group admin?
The reason I ask is that I just went and checked a group that I'm the admin of and the button is still there. But it's not there if I'm just a member.

I created a test event of a group I created, and in step 3, I was able to press the button to send invites to all group members (hope they don't mind, heh). Not sure why you wouldn't being seeing that button.

Response by poster: Could it be because I created another event and invited the group to it this week?

IIRC, aren't admins and officers two totally different things?

You're not alone. Someone else mentioned this to me this morning, and I'm not sure how/if she resolved it.

Perhaps you have too many people in your group. I know there's a limit after which you can no longer do mass facebook-mails, maybe there's something similar wrt invites

There is no such button for me either. I just created a test event in a group of 600+ users. I am the sole admin.

Response by poster: I have 300 in my group. The help page says the limit is 1000. Maybe they forgot to change it.

This appears to be based on the number of users in the group. I created another event in a group of 26 people, and it allowed me to send invites to all group members at once. Annoyingly, it didn't ask me to confirm what I was doing after I clicked the "Invite group members" button, so it just spammed 26 of my friends with a fake invite. :(

And spammed them again telling them I cancelled it. Oh I heart you Facebook.

I belong to a Facebook group (1550 members) where the admin says on the front page that she cannot send mass emails once the group reaches 1200 members.

If you go to "Events" and click "Create New Event" you can have it hosted by your group...is there an option under "Guest List" to invite said group?
