Can I plug a Yamaha DT Explorer Drum kit into the AUX channel on my old Harmon Kardon analogue receiver with a set of big Mission speakers? .. or will something bad happen….?

As long as your outputs are line level, (aux out, headphone jack, etc) which they are likely to be, you should be fine...

Best answer: It won't blow up, if that is what you are asking.

I'd use line-out from the drum kit to line-in on the HK. Line levels are 1Vpp, nominal. Headphones are usually high impedance.

Start out with the volume low! (Neighbors might want you to keep it that way, too.)

Just keep the levels low to begin with, as FauxScot says. Should be okay... might be a bit of noise on the line. Otherwise, take your drum and beat it.
