Does the Home Team always win?

Where can I find out if the Boston Red Sox won/lost on Marathon Monday on the years the game was played?

Wikipedia, Baseball Almanac, Reference season long results but the 3rd Monday in April varies year by year.

im not sure how far back you intend to go, but the definition of patriots day has changed over time. up until 1969 it was celebrated on april 19.

Some info about the history of the game. Anecdotally, I can tell you that they have not ALWAYS won -- I can remember many times when they did not win on Patriots' Day. I remember one year they lost something like 20-0, in fact.

From the Providence Journal's Red Sox blog, which credits the Sox PR department:

"The Red Sox improved to 65-48 all-time on Patriots Day, including 26 doubleheaders between 1903 and 1966"

Best answer: They may be 65-48 all time, but they're only 20-23 since the tradition of playing at home on Patriots' Day started in 1959.

19 Apr 1966 - W - Tigers 0 - Red Sox 7
