Travel blogs with a specific focus

I'm looking for travel blogs with a very specific focus.

The focus could be anything: a question, a search for something (like the perfect canoli/noodle soup/mountain trek) , a particular cause (say, renewable energy), a mode of transport (for instance, I remember reading an online travel journal written by a couple who traveled the length of the Panamerican Highway on bicycles).

Extra points for good writing and good design.

Double extra points for a focus that has some sociopolitical significance - for instance, a friend told me she heard about a blog focusing on the question: "what does the world think of America?" This is exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for. BTW: my friend says she heard about it on NPR, but my google searches are coming up empty. Is anyone familiar with this blog?

Example in book form of the type of thing I'm looking for: The Size of the World, by Jeff Greenwald, which follows a RTW trip the author did without flying (ie, by land and sea).

Note: I'm not really looking for general RTW blogs, unless they have some sort of specific focus or are just really, really well written or designed.

Maybe you were looking for U Truth Project? Ida just started in South Africa and she has some big ideas.

Malena's RTW: RTW in search of candy (just started)

Six in the World: A Family going RTW (finished)

Family on Bikes: Family riding bikes from Alaska to Argentina (not yet started)

General, but better designed RTW: Destination TBD, Me-go
