Well, you can set up VNsea on the iPhone for a VNC connection to your desktop, but it won't be as user friendly for the document accessing part. I currently use TightVNC on my desktop with a DynDNS account so I can access my computer on the iPhone with xxxx.selfip.com:yyyy.
If you're on a wifi connection its fairly easy to accomplish things on your desktop - I regularly start up and start programs when I'm away. Doing it over the EDGE connection isn't as fluid, but still workable. posted by shinynewnick at 4:44 AM on January 17, 2008
