Why does YouTube think I'm Polish?

Why is YouTube directing me to the Polish version in Firefox?

The other day, I go to YouTube and I get directed to the Polish version of the site. I thought maybe it was a fluke. But I noticed this keeps happening to me. The weird thing is, it only happens in Firefox.

It loads to the English/US site just fine in IE, and I'm not running any sort of proxy in Firefox because those reverse IP locate me accurately to where I live.

So why is it doing this? It's not a huge problem, but a minor annoyance since all the top videos on the front are Polish videos and I hate how all the login stuff is in Polish too.

Click the icon on the upper right. Select "Global" or "globalny" or whatever it is in Polish.

Best answer: Try clearing out your cookies.

Reselecting your location via the site icon on the upper left should update your cookie to reflect your new (or, in this case, correct) locale.

Response by poster: The second after I posted this, I tried clearing my cookies and that did the trick. Insert Polish joke here.

Thanks for the help, in case this happens to me again.

Just as a data point, this same thing happened to a friend the other day, but I think it was a different one than Poland. Just so you don't think you're the only one to have this happen.

I had my language set to Turkish one day. I'm still curious why this happens.

Mine got stuck on UK yesterday. It was pretty obvious what I had to do to fix it (choose Global from the Site menu), so I just did that and it was fixed.
