How do I take WMA audio and convert them for compatibility for iTunes?
I try dragging these (legal) files into my iTunes library, yet it rejects them every time.

Have you tried importing them instead? I think dragging only works with already compatible files.

Are you attempting this on a windows or Mac OS computer? iTunes for Windows will convert unprotected WMA files to AAC or MP3, but iTunes for Mac OS X does not. If the files are legal, but protected WMA, then you are out of luck (unless you can burn to CD Audio and then import from CD to MP3 or AAC, which will result in some loss of fidelity, potential audible depending on your speakers and ears.)

On a Mac, it's worth getting the Flip4Mac QuickTime components.
