In the TV show Californication, season one, episode nine, Hank takes Becca to a guitar shop and there is a guy trying to sell his guitar: what type of guitar is it?

ikareru, not knowing much about guitars, did Hank get a good deal at the price he paid? It seemed pretty beat up in the video.

How much did he pay? The faded specials go for about $700 new. However, the faded series Gibsons are made to resemble old worn in guitars. If that is an actual 60's or 70's Les Paul DC it would be worth quite a bit more.

The guy says he could "put it on eBay and get over 10 grand easy." Hank offers and gets it for $1,350 minus "a few hundred short" in cash in an envelope.
