SWM seeks cable for long drives, dashboard-lit dinners . . .

Help me find (or make) one of these in the Philly area for a weekend road trip.

I've got a Jensen headset that needs a special cable, a J-Link iPod, to correctly integrate with an ipod. The cable is not available at the regular big box stores (walmart, target, best buy, circuit city) nor the car parts places around here (auto zone, pep boys, napa). I'm guessing that a more specialized boutique auto parts store or custom shop will carry such a cable but Google is of no help. Does anyone know of such a place in Philly which specifically carries Jensen accessories? Alternatively I could easily splice such a cable together if anyone had a diagram or even pinouts.

Thanks in advance!

Can you take a picture of the Jensen connector? It's not all that clear in the picture but it looks round.

If it's for a road trip this weekend, though, I think you're SOL.

Some days it really irks me that we consumers put up with all this proprietary crap (cables, chargers, batteries, etc) when there's no reason for the stuff to be proprietary and it ends up wasting resources.

Response by poster: Amen, proprietary does suck. I found a place that does regularly stock them (as I figured a non-chain customization shop) but he installed his last one this morning. Oh well, guess I'll burn some CDs . . .
