How do I buy tickets in Phase 2 of the Beijing Olympics when I have plenty of Chinese friends, but I'm not a Chinese national?

I've just missed out Phase 1 of the ticket allocation, so would like to gear up dramatically for Phase 2. I've picked my events which include the opening ceremony ($$$) and hockey (not so $$$).

I would like to know if it's possible to get one of my Chinese-national friends to purchase them for me, hence saving more $$$$ than ever before, maybe I'll have to give them a cut though.

I'm wondering if there is any fraud protection, although if it's a photo ID, I should be OK as I'm Chinese by ethnicity.

Please don't tell me that my only option is to sign up to some totally inflated flights + hotel + ticket package and ruin my day (it's friday too)!

The Beijing Olympic Committee is being *very* strict about tickets. At least for the opening and closing ceremonies, they're only letting in the original ticket holders unless they're gotten special approval. That is, tickets are non-transferrable and supposedly that *will* be enforced. Don't know if they're going to be that strict for *all* events though...

All I can say is "good luck." Seriously, unless you're going for the least popular events, it's gonna be tough to impossible to get tickets unless you do shell out for the rip-off tour packages.

Sorry if I ruined your Friday!
