Macbook Screen

My macbook screen has developed cloudy/opaque spots (2) that you can only see from certain angles. What is it? Is it repairable? Most importantly is it Apple's fault? (I'm particular about my screen maintenance.)

Does it resemble like this problem? If it does, I'd call AppleCare and reference that particular service notice. Actually, I'd call AppleCare regardless --- assuming you didn't buy the extra 2 years of AppleCare, your 1-year warranty is almost up.

My MacBook Pro -- 15" -- has had this problem FOUR TIMES now. My screen was replaced twice, then Apple replaced the entire laptop, and now it's happened again and I'm getting the screen replaced sometime this week. Working with our company's on-site AppleCare warranty folks, we think that maybe part of the problem might be that the MacBook Pros have an extreme sensitivity to pressure on the top of the case (the part with the Apple logo), and that maybe the normal wear-and-tear of how I carry my laptop in my backpack most of the time might be what's making mine so problematic. In any event, over time I've replaced everything I use with my MBP, and now even bought a new backpack, so we'll see what's happening.

In any event, this is a longwinded way of saying that if you have AppleCare, they should replace the screen for you. If you don't have the (relative) luxury of on-site service, you'll have to do the whole Genius Bar thing... annoying, yes, but they should take care of you.
