get me student savings

So I only qualify as a "student" for one more year--what student rates/discounts/etc should I take advantage of in that time?

I'm thinking of stuff like the Apple university student prices,--not necessarily huge savings, but if I'm going to buy a computer in the next two years I might as well get it now and save a couple hundred. Anything else I should do while I'm still a student? It doesn't have to involve saving money, just something that is easier or more available to a student as opposed to a non-student. I'm Canada, in Vancouver most of the time, Nova Scotia some of the time.

You can get a heftier discount on Apple products if you sign up for an Apple Student Developer account. It costs $100 for a year, but you get a once-in-a-lifetime discount on one major piece of Apple hardware. I got about $500 off my Macbook Pro this way, which was totally worth the $100 buy in. Plus if you sign up now, you'll probably get a complimentary copy of Leopard as well.

They also give you a monthly DVD with various developer tools and an extra-large T-shirt.

Multi-year subscriptions on magazines you like... Some of the student discounts are steep and you can prepay for like 3 years sometimes.
One magazine I subscribed to at a student rate for 3 years at the price I'd have to normally pay for 1 year's subscription without student discount.
But YMMV.

Get an international student ID and keep those discounts going.

If you haven't got one already (and you think you might travel), get an ISIC Card. (International student ID card.) You have to be a student to get one, but you can use it for a few years afterwards without any hassle. I remember it saved me a bundle on movie and show tickets in London...

If you are Jewish, you can get a free trip to Israel through "Taglit - Birthright Israel" up to age 26.

If you're in need of any expensive software, Journey Ed sells discounted software to students with ID. Some deals are better than others, but it's worth taking a look around.
