Just watched 'Godfather' again, now I want my own crime family

I'm looking for a good NON text based Gangster/Mafia themed Strategy game, similar to (but hopefully better than) Gangsters or Gangsters 2. Single player preferred but Online game acceptable.

I would just play my version of Gangsters or get Gangsters 2 but they don't work on XP systems (which I have learned, in the case of the former, from extensive first hand experience).

Again, the emphasis is on STRATEGY. Not GTA run around and commit crimes but actually orchestrate an entire crime family. Free form, deep strategy/business and mostly realistic--that is what I am looking for.

I'd like to find exactly that...there is Omerta, but I don't know if it's any good because I tend to prefer single player games.
