Kill me before the curiousity does?

The significance of a blank white 1" button? I'm told not to ask.

It's not a Grant Morrison reference, is it?

The other day I was walking through the supermarket and spotted a girl wearing a blank 1" button... yknow, like the kind punk bands have been selling since the dawn of time. Only. Blank. White. I smiled and said "is that a blank wh--" and she smiled and said "Sorry, if you don't know, I can't talk to you about it."

So I imagine anyone on here will be equally unable to tell me, right?

Anyone care to very carefully steer me in the right direction before my curiousity causes me to lose any more sleep over this? I respect this sort of game, whatever it is, so I'm reluctant to ask, but it really is driving me nuts. Thanks.

Can someone unpack this for those of us who are not myrrh and don't know Grant Morrison?

So is not talking about what the button means a pitifully elitist aspect of Invisibles fandom, or was that girl just kind of a jerk?

Probably a little bit of the first, a lot of the last, maybe tempered by the fact that she may have been trying to make a joke.

Best answer: I bet the girl probably thought you did know, since you noticed and were mentioning it, and then felt dumb when you didn't.
