Help me find a new bedside HDTV.

I am looking for a cheap TV to put on the night stand next to my bed after my old 12" LCD SDTV broke. I'd like the new one to be 16:9, HDTV (720p) and as cheap as possible. My comcast cable box has component and DVI connectors.. any recommendations?

I've seen a few Dells and no-name brands for $250-$400... it needs to have speakers, and i'm interested in the best picture quality possible considering the budget. Anything over 20" might be too big...

If you have a Comcast box with DVI for a tuner, couldn't you just get a wide-screen LCD monitor? Not having a tuner generally brings the price down considerably.
You can get a 19" wide-screen LCD with DVI for around $200 I think. I don't have a specific recommendation though.

a monitor would be good if you could find one with decent speakers

how adamant are you on the speaker issue? you could get a decent speaker system for 10-20 bucks, and since you'd be using the cable box, you could still control the volume from one remote.

Then you could get the cheaper lcd monitor.

Response by poster: no-speaker lcd could work, but i believe the monitor has to support HDCP over DVI. It just makes things have a few more wires

Try bookmarking a site like this. There are a couple of sets on here that are in the neighborhood of what you're looking for. These deals tend to expire so be patient, but ready to pounce.
