MaterialsFilter: Where can one find nylon or polyacetal rods?

I'm looking for nylon or polyacetal (aka acetal or POM) rods, and I'm having a hard time finding them. I can't figure out if there is some automotive/construction/boating application for these, which might give me a clue for where to look. Internet searches reveal manufacturers, but I only need about 6 feet of the stuff for this application. Anyone know at what kind of store I might find this material?

Response by poster: (By the way, I live in New York City and have already been to Canal Plastics, where they have something that looks perfect but is neither nylon nor polyacetal but some kind of plastic that is far too brittle.)

Best answer: Aircraft Spruce: Delrin rods nylon rods

They have a more limited supply range but tend to be cheaper than the huge places like McMaster and suitable for small orders.
