What is the name and performer of the song that was played on Hockey Night in Canada during the opening montage for the first SC final game?

Not the HNIC music, mind. The song they played while they showed Sens / Ducks highlights leading to the final.

I didn't see the game but my friends' song, Soul On Ice, is licensed by the NHL. If that was it the band is called Danko Jones.

Any lyrics you could pick out?

Response by poster: No, that's not it. One of the lyrics was "Welcome to the show". But not the Insane Clown Posse song. I've tried searching that song title but no hits there. It had an almost spoken-word element to it, sort of like Robbie Robertson in places.

Response by poster: Oh, it's also not Barclay James Harvest and I don't think it's Blue.

Best answer: I think this is it. (For those who don't want to click the link: it's "Ladies and Gentlemen" by Saliva)

Seems to be turning into another one of those songs played at sporting events.

Response by poster: Yep, that was it. That'll teach me not to pay attention to the musical temptations of Wrestlemania.
