Getting GIS data from New York State

Why can't I download orthoimagery from New York State's GIS Clearinghouse?

When attempting to download files for any county, I'm getting prompted to log in. I know much of the downloadable imagery around NYC is restricted now, but imagery for the whole state?? I've downloaded a bunch of files from the site in the past, so is there just something screwy today?

Due to the presence of "sensitive content",
certain data/imagery is available under the following procedure as directed by the NYS Office of Homeland Security.

For further instructions, please visit

They want you to regsiter to get the information...

Most recent high quality ortho photos will cost you. Even governmental agencies will charge you for digital copies.
