Okay, so I'm looking for a small PDA that can run Java, preferably Java SE, and has WiFi.
Java runs on Palm - and if you'd like to buy my Treo 600, make me an offer.

Your usage requirements are not real clear. So..a Sony UX-280P is what you should get because its what I want. Its not especialy small, but, it runs windows XP and so it can run real programs.

That is pretty sweet, unfortunately I'm not buying anything made by Sony. I was hoping to buy something a lot cheaper, too :P

I've just bought a Nokia E61 to use as a phone/PDA. My essentials were a qwerty keyboard and wifi. It helps that it cost $600AUD compared to $1000+AUD for a Windows Mobile equivalent or $800AUD for a Treo 680 which wouldn't have had wifi. It runs Java MIDP 2.0 whatever that is. Also it seems to have a better battery life than similar devices.
Disadvantages are that it runs Symbian OS rather than Windows Mobile or Palm (not a problem for me, but may be for you) and the processor isn't as fast as the current top-end Windows PDAs, which may make Java stuff suck a bit. I'm very happy with mine, but it may be more phone-centric than you are after. Certainly worth a look anyway.
