What's up with my Archos Jukebox Recorder 15 ?

How can I get my computer to recognize the Archos Jukebox Recorder 15 as an external drive ?

I got the Archos Jukebox Recorder 15 a while ago, and, at first, I was able to transfer stuff to it easily, but now the computer doesn't recognize the Archos as an external drive.

How can I remedy this ?

Thanks.

Pretty spartain on the details here, which makes it fairly hard to help you.

What did you change on your PC (install/uninstall/etc)? What OS? etc.

Response by poster: Spartain ?

The OS is XP, home edition; to the best of my knowledge, I didn't change anything major on the 'puter.

Thanks, eh.

I have one of these. It should automatically be recognized. All it really is is an external drive. Is your USB port still working? Try a different one?

Spartan -- Sorry.

Are you sure the cable works? Did you damage the USB port on the unit/computer? Does it show up in device manager when you plug it in? (even as an unknown device)

Got to archos, download the drivers and install them. These things date back to when MS didn't fully support USB, so the drivers include USB stuff that will get it working.

I second harlequin on the updated USB drivers. And once you get that part working, download the new firmware for the jukebox and you should be in good shape.
