How can I play old Mac games (for Systems 7 through 9) on my Intel iMac?

I have an itch to play some old Mac games—Scarab of Ra, Crystal Quest, and Short Circuit, for example. I suspect I'll need to run an emulator but the emulators I've found so far require a ROM from the actual Mac, which I don't have. What other options do I have? I'm running OS 10.4.8. Thanks!

I've not done it myself, but I'm pretty sure what you're looking for is SheepShaver. Googling for 'sheepshaver intel' returns quite a few results. Here are a couple to get you started: MacMegasite and The Apple Blog.

Oh, and as for the ROM... It's going to be necessary pretty much no matter what. Try some creative Googling.

Sigh. The Apple Blog link describes how to get the ROM out of an updater Tome.

Lots of old Mac OS systems and updates. Best of luck.

Funny, I was just remembering Harry the Handsome Executive earlier today. I hope this thread finds you a solution, cause I'd love to play that again.
