Prepaid Fido (Canadian cell phone company) unlocked Treo 650 can no longer connect to the internet. There is

a Treo site where I've posted a follow-up question to another with the same issue here, where it remains unresolved.

Synopsis: Prepaid monthly Fido user. Working just fine on the web for a couple of months until mid-November. Unable to connect since. I used apn: wap.fido.ca with user ID and PW: fido. (internet.fido.ca is only for plan users, not prepaid). No changes to the system or my account according to Fido tech support. Since the Treo is not supported, I can't really whinge too much to Fido about it. Am I borked? Anyone solved a similar problem before?

Bonus Q: Where did the "Hope me" thing start? - net searching leads to Hope, Maine and lots of posts on this site.
