Is it possible to stop Mozilla/Firefox from truncating tooltips?

Is it possible to stop Mozilla/Firefox from truncating tooltips (or whatever the link title="popping stuff" popup things are called)? I assume this is somehow a "feature," not a bug, but it really pisses me off.

This is a very long standing bug in Mozilla & friends. According to the discussion here there's a patch that works but it's not in the main browser (yet). So, if you're very very brave you fan fix it yourself, otherwise you can wait around until this gets merged.
