International EVDO Coverage

I am seeking a company that offers EVDO service with coverage in Brazil. I am also open to any other technologies that provide a wireless broadband service.

I know Vivo (a Brazilian cell phone company) offers a service called Zap 3G, but I would prefer not to deal with a Brazilian company. Ideally seeking a American company that has a roaming agreement.

Right now this is a tough request. This market is changing and growing VERY fast, so you'll likely have more options within a few months.

In terms of roaming offerings from U.S. companies, the closest I know of right now is a plan that does NOT yet serve Brazil but is described as "expanding"; see the middle of this pcmag.com article.

If you're living in one place in Brazil (rather than traveling around), try googling satellite internet; that might be your cheapest option.

Brazil like most countries uses GSM technology. You're not going to have much luck with EVDO as it is CDMA.

You're best bet would be to look into T-Mobile or Cingular. However, the data roaming rates are expensive.
