Make me Jack

How to look like Jack?

I'm attending a rather fetishistic / burlesque club night where the theme is "Greed Is Good", and the dress code is very much Millionaire. The SO has her Paris Hilton look down to a tee and I've decided to dress a la Jack Nicholson given my greying hair and paunch.

I have a single breasted dinner jacket, pants and tux but what else would set off the Jack look. What cigars does he smoke? What make are his trademark shades and what else would make a non-Jack look Jack?

Any links to UK suppliers would be great.

Many thanks.

I would at least go for some stubble.

Isn't he a big Lakers fan? Maybe some season tickets poking out of a pocket.

Definitely stubble. I don't think he has trademark shades, just a trademark style: narrow black plastic frames with gray to dark lenses. Any cigar will do. Note that Jack's hair isn't that gray, he's just got an advanced receding hairline.

The best thing you can do is look at photos of Jack to see how he carries himself. The eyebrows, the grin, the posture are a major part of what makes him who he is.

One great way to figure out what visual keys make a star identifiable is to look at caricatures. Forehead, eyebrows, grin, dark glasses and tux seem to be the big features.

Also, carry a fistful of Oscars.

Until I got to the last sentence, I assumed you meant Jack Abramoff, which is easier to do, and prolly more appropriate to the theme.

Fedora, black. Trenchcoat, black. Piece of cake.

If nobody gets it, you could always add a moustache and fake bomb and tell people you're Boris Badanoff.

The sunglasses used to be Ray-Ban Wayfarers, but he's worn a different style in recent years. But they're always black-framed.

Yeah, the shades, stubble, slick the hair back, gel gel gel.

The Tux with a white shirt, no tie (or tie, not tied).

Other than that and you are overselling it (no body outside the few readers of Cigar Aficionado are going to know a specific type of cigar that Jack really smokes)
