What is BT Open Point?

I'm about to commit to conducting a 3+ hour workshop in the UK. Of necessity, I will need to be connected to the web reliably and at high speed for the entire session. No connection -> no workshop -> wasted trip from Seattle to London.

When I asked the venue if they had an internet connection, all they could say is that "The venue has BT Open Point."

20 minutes of digging using multiple search engines and I have no idea what Open Point is, much less if it will meet my needs.

Anyone know what it is?

They must mean Openzone.

The person you were talking to is probably confused. What they probably have is BT Openzone, which a quick skim suggests is just wifi hotspot service.
