Name of popular note-taking technique discussed here before

OK, I'm looking for the name of a modern technique popularly used to organize notes, tasks and projects. It's been discussed many times here and there are a couple of popular books that discuss the techniques. I believe it may be known by an acronym or initials.

Yes, I searched. Yes, I suck. I'm sure this will be answered in less than 10 minutes.
