Best Artist Website Service

Any recomendations for a blog/space service good for artists who want to showcase their paintings - something like the "music" category on myspace?
I have a friend who's just sold her first couple pieces at her first gallery showing, and people keep asking for her website.
There are many that would suffice - flickr, or many regular blogsites with generous upload limits - but I'm wondering if there's anything specifically tailored for the task, or if a generic site has proven to be unusually suitable based on user/artist experiences.

I just came across what I thought was probably a good example of 'tastefully mixing the art and business' -- Belinda Del Pesco's blogspot blog. Check out the links top right.
It seems to me that the audience might be unnecessarily narrowed if only a single service/site is used. Becoming involved in a group such as Illustration Friday, having a blog and a Flickr presence together with any other profile online that your friend can come up with might provide wider exposure, if that's what she wants.
There's lots of groups around such as on LiveJournal but it's a little unclear whether exposure or commercial hopes are the main desire, because the art groups/sites may get some kudos but I doubt whether they will be commercially very useful unless your friend is a standout.
