I like Wordpress, but everytime I tried to post a video I saw on youtube (via the same embedd codes that work elsewhere, such as MySpace and etc) it came up with some error.
Thanks for your help

I agree; wordpress works just fine for me. How exactly are you posting it, what version of wordpress are you running, etc?

Perhaps a plugin might help?
kimili flash embed wp plugin
Doesn't seem to be too tricky.

Do you care about XHTML standards compliance? Are the words 'degrades gracefully' important to you? If so, I second the recommendation for kimili - great plugin. Note: It is good for embedding flash files but you may have trouble getting it to work and validate when using third-party videos that require specific embed code.
Do you just want to embed videos from YouTube quickly and with as little hassle as possible? As others have mentioned, you shouldn't really need a plugin. Embedded videos work fine in WordPress.
Are you using the Visual Editor when writing posts? If so, that is your problem. It will try to 'fix' the code in your post and, in doing so, tends to munge the embed code.
To disable it, login to your admin panel and go to:
Users>Your Profile
At the bottom of the page there are Personal Options.
Uncheck Use the visual rich editor when writing.
After that, go to:
Options>Writing
On the top, there are Formatting options (three checkboxes):
-Users should use the visual rich editor by default
-Convert emoticons like :-) and :-P to graphics on display
-WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically
Uncheck them all.
The embedded videos should work fine now (at least they do with Google Video, don't know about YouTube).
Cheers.
Note: You will have to manually edit the xhtml of posts from now on. This isn't a bad thing - I find visual editors cause more problems than they solve (not only in WordPress but in other CMS systems as well). They kill embedded code and sometimes introduce unnecessary tags that break validation (if, for example, you heavily edit and re-edit the post).

I think cup has it. The wysiwyg editor in WP has caused me no end of support hassles with my friends. :)
