Please help me reconstitute my Ensimismada collection!

A little band called Ensimismada....
I used to have all their mp3s, which were available for free download, but I've lost them! IUMA, which is where I originally got the mp3s, has been down for months and will probably never come back :-(
Does anyone have their mp3s for me to download, or any leads about what's happening with the band? I really miss listening to their music. The band's website has been giving "Site is temporally inaccessible" [sic] for a few months as well.

Have you tried SoulSeek? I've found some really wierd & rare music there that I haven't been able to find anywhere else outside of buying vinyl on Ebay.

Yes, but it's a bitch...
I wouldn't take a crack at it unless you've got a Linux/Unix background.

Wait a minute, it appears that there is a native C++ client for the Mac so you don't have to fuck around with Python. I have no idea how well it works, though...

Actually, I write Python + wxPython apps on my Mac, so I'm happy to try the Python version.
A comparison chart linked from the page we both linked to says the Obj-C client is still immature.

In fact, that one specifically says it won't work on Mac: Welcome to this preliminary homepage for Museek. A soulseek client for Linux and quite possibly other platforms (MacOSX and FreeBSD 4 will not work).

Then you're set!
To best find the music you want on SoulSeek - There is a little chat room window in the lower right hand corner of the program, with rooms divided up by genre (for the most part). Join the room which is similar enough to the genre of music you're looking for and perform a "distributed search" while you sit in that chat room. It could take a while for the distributed search to make the rounds, but you'll eventually get some sort of result.
Basically, SoulSeek is exactly like IRC, but with a built in file trading system that doesn't suck.

Hmm...but SoulseeX is the recommended-by-Soulseek Mac client, to the extent that they hired the developer. I think I'll go with that.

For the Mac, Soulseex works fine and is very easy to use.

Man, soulseeX is such a beautiful app! Unfortunately, no results for a search for Ensimismada. I made sure it was working by searching for other stuff.

I handed out best answers even though I still don't have any hope, because it was a pretty hopeless question in the first place. If anyone does happen to have any Ensimismada mp3s, please post or email me!

Well, don't just give up. Leave that search open and see if anyone comes online later who has it.

kindall-the saved search feature doesn't work yet in soulseex, but when it does I'll set this up as a saved search/wishlist, I guess.

I emailed an address for them that I found on the Internet Archive, with a link to this thread. I hope it's still a good email address.

Yeah, I know... what I meant is, leave it open and hit "Search Again" occasionally. Actually I think it will do that automatically from time to time even without the Saved Search feature.

I don't actually know him -- he left a message on my blog with the info because he didn't want to spend $5 on a MetaFilter account. It appears I'm the only one participating in the thread with any way for non-members to get in touch with him, is all.

Yeah, he told me that on email. I initially thought you had somehow belatedly realized you knew the guy, or something.
