Gamepad Woes

My iBook doesn't love my gamepad. How do I get the romance started?
I want to play games on my iBook (12" G4 OSX 10.3.9) but I'm having trouble getting my gamepad to work. It's a Saitek P2500 and shows up in System Profiler as Cyborg Rumble Force Pad. But it won't show up in Gamepad Companion or USB overdrive.
What do I do?
