Recommend soft tube socks

Other socks I've tried (eg Darn Tough) have been stiffer and less 'fluffy'. Can someone recommend soft athletic / tube socks for men that are not too thick, very soft feeling, nice stretchiness?

Someone gifted me Equinox socks and I have no affection for the brand, the socks themselves have been both very stretchy and soft.

Will be watching this closely. All the nice "fluffy" athletic socks I have (Thorlo) are also crazy thick.

I really like Smartwool socks. They're double layered to prevent blisters, but I still find them thinner than most similar socks.

Yep, I usually buy the Smartwool socks somewhere in the middle of the "padding" scale - where the top of the sock is thin and soft but the high-impact/high-wear areas are padded/double-layered. The padded areas are fluffy, the whole sock is soft and not too thick, and they are very stretchy overall. I wanted to like the Darn Tough socks (lifetime warranty, made in USA) but they are so non-stretchy that they're literally difficult to put on for me and (at least the women's styles) feel like they're too small in the leg because of the lack of stretch.

Best answer: With a caveat that your criteria for socks is not the precise reason I like these socks, Bombas are my go-to for comfort and support. They are soft and stretchy enough to me, at least.

If you go to the flea market or the close out store, you will find a bewildering variety of socks that you can evaluate in person and if you like them, you can often buy a pretty bulk amount

Best answer: I wear athletic tube socks, the kind with the stripes, and I find that no matter how fluffy they are at first the fluffiness goes away after a few washings. I've tried several brands, from cheapo imports to made in the USA fancy ones, and this happened with all of them.

Response by poster: Just an update ordered Bombas and they're pretty close to what I'm looking for: substantial cushion but not thick, soft feel, and stretchy. I'll keep them.

Wanted to try Smartwool but the styles are crazy.

Appreciate the tips on keeping them fluffy (minimal/air dry and don't keep them rolled up).
