Can anyone ID the song in the SNL skit "Delinquent Girl Teen Gang"?

Is this a real song, or just something they cooked up for the episode? Shazam can't seem to ID it. I set the link to start exactly where the song starts.

This is a pretty straightforward twelve-bar rock / blues progression in E, played on drums, bass, and guitar, with bongos and a sick saxophone solo laid on top of it. If the SNL band has a house style, I'd say that's it. Personally, I think the saxophone playing sounds a lot like SNL bandleader / saxophonist Lenny Pickett's style, too.

My money is on a quick custom job by the SNL band.

Speaking of money, it seems unlikely the show would want to drop money on rights to music that the house band can totally handle. I also bet the band came up with it.

It sounds like a pastiche of late '50s-early '60s instrumental rock, like e.g. 'Rebel Rouser,' 'Teen Beat,' 'Tequila,' etc. (it is not any of those songs).

For a brief period of time, this kind of thing was pretty popular.

There have been a kajillion compilations--here's one on Amazon, and one on Discogs.

If you wanted to chase down more examples of the genre on a streaming service or YouTube or wherever, that would be one way to continue the search. But, as others have said, I think it's more likely this is something the band worked up for the episode.
