What is the piece of material that Amy Millar has attached to(?)/(below?) Christiano's shadow roll and what is its purpose?

Best answer: That is a nose net or a nose shade. It protects the horse from dust and bugs. It's also sometimes used on horses that exhibit head shaking syndrome, i.e., jerking or flicking of their head for no apparent reason.

Response by poster: I wondered about something like that. I thought it might have something to do with bugs, but that seems more like an outdoor piece of equipment, and since it's not tied down, and it keeps flapping around (and flipping up) it didn't seem like it would have much of an effect.
